Time to be vulnerable, get real, and assist our mental health.

My Mental Health Testimony:

I HAVE SEVERE ANXIETY. 

I’ve been on anxiety & depression medication since I was 11 years old. I used to get so anxious it would make me physically sick, I would stop breathing, and I would completely shut down. 

It was debilitating. 

Now-

I haven’t taken medication for TWO YEARS. 

What healed me? 

Fitness.

I was told all of my life that physical activity would help ease my anxiety. That it would bring me endorphins that helped boost my mental health. I never believed anyone. I was relatively active, and it didn’t seem to be doing anything. 

Then- i started working out on a way I enjoyed. I found passion in moving my body in a way that benefitted me not only physically, but mentally as well. 

Now- I workout 6 days a week, and my anxiety has never been this under control. 

Through working out, I have been able to control not only my physical strength, but my MENTAL STRENGTH. 

Working out is not a replacement for the proper medication you need to help your mental health condition, but it can aid your journey of becoming mentally better DRASTICALLY. 

Your fitness journey is so much more than the way you look, physical fitness is the key to living a better, happier, and healthier life in every way imaginable.
